Know Your Format โ Reel vs. Story vs. Post
Reel
Reach & Discovery
Your #1 tool to reach people who don't follow you yet. Reels are pushed by the algorithm to new audiences โ this is how you grow. Hook in the first 2 seconds, deliver value, end with a call to action.
Best for: Market tips, client wins, local hot takes, storytelling moments
Story
Nurture & Stay Top of Mind
Stories are for your existing audience โ the people who already follow you. This is where you build trust daily. Show up consistently. Be real, be human, be present. Disappearing after 24 hours keeps it low-pressure.
Best for: Behind the scenes, polls, quick wins, daily life, market updates
Post / Carousel
Educate & Convert
Posts live on your profile permanently and establish your credibility. Carousels get saved and shared โ the algorithm loves saves. Use these to educate, answer FAQs, share testimonials, and show your expertise.
Best for: Buyer/seller tips, testimonials, local guides, neighborhood spotlights
02
Consistency Is the Strategy
- โ One Reel per week minimum. Reels compound โ older content keeps working for you. Don't post and forget, post and stay.
- โ 3โ5 Stories every day. You don't have to be polished โ you have to be present. Show up in Stories the way you show up at a coffee meeting: real, approachable, and helpful.
- โ 2โ3 Feed Posts per week. Carousels, graphics, and testimonials. These build your credibility gallery โ when someone lands on your profile, this is what they judge you by.
- โ The Hive gives you the templates. You don't need to create from scratch. The Beeline to Success plan includes done-for-you content you can customize and post in minutes โ not hours.
03
The 10-10-10 Rule โ Engagement Before You Post
10
Before You Post
Go to 10 accounts in your target audience โ potential clients, local community members, or referral partners โ and leave genuine, thoughtful comments on their posts.
10
Warm Up Your Feed
Like and respond to 10 comments or stories from people already engaging with your content. Signal to the algorithm that your account is active and social.
10
Add 10 New Friends
Go find 10 new accounts to follow โ potential clients, local business owners, or community members. Growing your network daily keeps your pipeline full and your reach expanding.
โก Do this every single time before hitting post. It's not optional โ it's the engine. The algorithm rewards accounts that engage, not accounts that just broadcast.
04
When Someone Responds โ Follow Up Fast
- 1 Reply within the hour. Speed signals that you're a real person, not a robot. The faster you respond, the higher the algorithm ranks your post โ and the more impressed the lead is.
- 2 Move the conversation to DMs. Comment back with something that invites them to keep talking: "I'd love to share more โ sent you a DM!" Then send a personal message immediately.
- 3 Ask one question. In your DM, don't pitch โ ask. "Are you thinking about buying in the next 6 months or just exploring?" One question opens the door to a real conversation.
- 4 Offer your value, not your sales pitch. Share a resource, a guide, or invite them into The Hive community. Give first. The relationship converts when they're ready โ not when you are.
- 5 Track every conversation. Use a simple spreadsheet or CRM. A warm lead that goes cold is money left on the table. Follow up at 3 days, 7 days, and 30 days.
05
What to Actually Post โ Content That Connects
Client Journey Storytelling
People don't buy houses โ they buy the feeling of coming home. Tell the story, not the stats.
Always get client permission. A short video clip with them at closing is gold.
- Share the struggle (nervous first-time buyer, competitive market)
- The turning point (what made it work)
- The win (keys in hand moment)
- The emotion (why it mattered)
Always get client permission. A short video clip with them at closing is gold.
Local Life & Community Content
You're not just a real estate agent โ you're a neighborhood expert. Prove it.
When locals share your content, your reach multiplies for free.
- Hidden gem restaurants & coffee spots
- Upcoming events & weekend things to do
- School highlights & community news
- Weekend market roundups (Rim Rock, Lost Creek, etc.)
When locals share your content, your reach multiplies for free.
Market Education & Tips
Position yourself as the expert before someone ever needs an agent.
The Hive has done-for-you templates for all of these โ just add your face and brand.
- "What's happening in [neighborhood] right now"
- Buyer myths debunked
- Seller prep checklists
- Interest rate explainers (tag your lender partner!)
The Hive has done-for-you templates for all of these โ just add your face and brand.
Social Proof & Behind the Scenes
Let others do the selling for you. And let people see the real you.
Authenticity builds trust faster than any polished ad ever will.
- Screenshot testimonials (with permission)
- Google/Zillow review highlights
- Day-in-the-life content (showing homes, open houses)
- Your "why" โ why you love being an agent
Authenticity builds trust faster than any polished ad ever will.
