Become the Mayor of Your Community

Four Weeks · One Mission

Summer is winding down. Families are settling back into routines. Kids are heading back to school. Football is starting. Neighborhood events are picking up again.

While everyone else is getting busy, this is your opportunity to become unforgettable.

This month is not about selling homes. It is about becoming the Realtor people naturally think of, because they see you everywhere — in the best way.

When someone asks, “Do you know a Realtor?” — your community should already have the answer.
Your August Mission

Visibility over virality.

Instead of chasing the algorithm this month, become part of your community. Every event. Every school. Every local business. Every neighborhood.

Your goal is not to create content. Your goal is to create connections. The content is what happens along the way — and it will be better than anything you could have planned at a desk.

Four Weeks · One Mission
Week OneAug 3 – 7
Back to School
Show up where the whole town already is.

Back-to-school season is one of the biggest community moments of the year. Families are stressed. Teachers are exhausted. Parents are hunting for resources they cannot find. This is your week to be genuinely, specifically helpful — before anyone has asked you for anything.

Helpful is memorable. Helpful gets screenshotted and forwarded to the group chat. That is the whole play.

Bee-Line Challenge
Choose three this week.
Deliver breakfast or coffee to a teachers' lounge.
Buy off a teacher wish list — pick one classroom and clear a few items.
Sponsor school supplies for a grade level or a counselor's closet.
Volunteer during Meet the Teacher night.
Share the district calendar and the dates parents always forget.
Create a “New to the Area School Guide” you can send all year.
Highlight the parks closest to each local school.
Introduce your followers to after-school activities and sign-up deadlines.
Welcome the families who just moved into your neighborhood.

Week TwoAug 10 – 14
Become Part of It
Anyone can post listings. Not everyone gets involved.

This week you put yourself in rooms where relationships happen on their own. You are not going to pitch anyone. You are going to show up, learn names, and let people find out what you do the normal way — by asking.

Pick one organization and actually join it. Not “look into it.” Join it. Then attend one thing you have never attended before.

Bee-Line Challenge
Join one organization. Volunteer somewhere. Attend something. Meet someone new.
Join one organization this week — PTA, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Young Professionals, booster club, neighborhood association, women's networking group, business alliance, or an HOA committee.
Volunteer for one shift somewhere that matters to you.
Attend one community event you have never been to before.
Meet three new people and get their names into your CRM before you go to bed.

Week ThreeAug 17 – 21
Become the Connector
People remember whoever brings everyone together.

Hosting does not have to be expensive. It has to feel welcoming. A cooler, a folding table, and a text thread is a real event. The person who sends the invitation becomes the center of the room, every single time.

Pick your date first, then pick the idea. The date is what makes it happen.

Bee-Line Challenge
Host one event this month. Set the date this week.
Pick the date and the place. Put it on your calendar before you tell anyone.
Invite personally — text or call, not a mass post. Twenty personal invites beats one graphic.
Ask each person to bring one neighbor or friend.
Follow up with everyone who came within 48 hours.
Event Ideas

Remember: your goal is not leads. Your goal is relationships. The referrals come later — and they come from people who already like being around you.

Week FourAug 24 – 28
Love Where You Live, Loudly
Celebrate the people who make this place worth living in.

Support local businesses out loud. Feature them. Tag them. Send people through their doors. When you help a local business grow, the whole community notices — and so does the owner, who talks to a hundred people a week.

Walk in, buy something, and ask four questions. That is the entire process.

Bee-Line Challenge
Feature five local businesses this week.
Business one — visit, buy, feature, tag.
Business two — visit, buy, feature, tag.
Business three — visit, buy, feature, tag.
Business four — visit, buy, feature, tag.
Business five — visit, buy, feature, tag.
Leave a real Google review for every one of them.
Who To Feature
Coffee shop Bakery Restaurant Florist Bookstore Gym Ice cream shop Boutique Pet store Local artist

Ask every business these four: How did you get started? What is your best seller? What is one thing people do not know about you? What is your favorite part of this community? Those answers are your content for the next month.

Better Conversations

Stop asking the question that ends conversations. Start asking the ones that open them.

Instead Of

“Do you know anyone buying or selling?”

Try

“What school do your kids go to?”

“What local business deserves more attention?”

“What's your favorite neighborhood event?”

“If a friend moved here tomorrow, where would you take them first?”

“What's one thing you wish more people knew about our town?”

People love talking about where they live. Let them. Eventually — and it is always eventually — they will ask what you do. That is when the conversation becomes a relationship instead of a pitch.

Bee Bonus

Become a Regular.

Choose one coffee shop, restaurant, gym, or local business and visit it every single week this month.

Learn the barista's name. Know the owner. Meet the regulars. Become part of the fabric of the place.

Because the best marketing is not being recognized online. It is being recognized when you walk through the front door.

The August Reminder

Be the most present, not the loudest.

You do not have to be the loudest Realtor. You just have to be the most present.

The agents who consistently show up in their communities become the ones people remember when it is finally time to move.

September Picks Up Where August Leaves Off
Coming Up · September
Turn Presence Into Conversations

August put you in the room. September is where those names become real conversations — the follow-ups, the coffees, the check-ins that turn a familiar face into a client. Keep every name you collected this month. You are going to need all of them.
